Glad I did not get up early for this one.

Joe Root is level above must get annoying playing with such tripe like Ballance.

To be fair to ballance (who I think is crap), their opening bowlers were brilliant.

Superb example of making a pitch perfectly for your spinners and Alli should have been given out as well. Lucky they didn't review.

Good that some more teams are becoming competitive, as they're not a bad unit now.

We'll still win though!!!

Re: 1st Test Bangladesh v England at Chittagong
Saw a bit earlier and they were asking the Bangladesh commentator about the pitch.
He said Chittagong is normally a flat road but this is very dry and he was surprised how rough the pitch was. Has obviously been given a scrub to make it turn from ball one.
England were under the pump but the Bangladesh captain inexplicably took Shakib off and bowled his pie throwing medium pacers.
Three spinners as England have is the right attack. One specialist seamer and a couple of allrounders like Woakes and Stokes who can get some reverse swing should have the Bangles covered.

Review for Ali given out by umpire

Re: 1st Test Bangladesh v England at Chittagong
Great to see that not all test cricket is dull.

Same umpire raised his finger 3 times in 6 balls against Ali, for which he reviewed every single time and all were overturned.

Superb stuff and then the end of Root.

What is the point of Gary Ballance? Are we seriously saying there are no better alternatives?

That ball to remove Stokes was an absolute belter.

Can't help but think we missed a trick by not have Tredders out there.

What would be a good score here? 250+?

Re: 1st Test Bangladesh v England at Chittagong
Snap your hand off for 250 tbh

But then our 'spinners' have to get to work

Batted Ali son.

He's had some vital test innings over the past year.

Re: 1st Test Bangladesh v England at Chittagong
Having reviewed 5 decisions against you successfully in an innings must be a record for a batsman.
Amusing that when he WAS out Bangladesh didn't review.

Not quite true Grumpster....we beat them twice in T20 there earlier this year - once in the T20 WC, and once in a warmup beforehand.

I guess they have to count technically, even though I would strike ALL International T20 results from the records personally.

Decent effort after a shocking start add another 30-50 in the morning they will struggle to get that many unless we bowl terribly.

Re: 1st Test Bangladesh v England at Chittagong
All out for 293.

Good comeback after the start.

Average first innings score here in the last 6 tests is 382, but I doubt they were spinning like this one.
